OrderPaperToday– FixPolitics has called on the federal government to issue a statement of commendation to Ms. Yewande Sadiku, for her leadership, courage and integrity on service of the country during her tenure as Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC).

A statement by FixPolitics said Ms. Sadiku has been released and cleared of all charges against her by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) via a letter dated 16th of December 2021.

The statement, endorsed by Anthony Ubani, Executive Director of FixPolitics, said the ICPC having conducted an investigation on certain allegations against her, discovered that none of it were true.

The statement recalled an earlier release by the group in August 2021 which had condemned Ms. Sadiku’s  continued harassment by government anti-corruption agencies, who couldn’t prove that she had a case to answer.

FixPolitics therefore “condemned any administration that brings individuals with competence and integrity into office but denies them support and protection when faced with challenges in enacting reform.”

It also urged the federal government to take immediate actions to protect Ms. Sadiku from harassment and ensure that technocrats who are appointed into positions of power and are providing ethical and competent leadership in their organizations are not subjected to public ridicule and tarnishing of their personal reputation as they both have far reaching and global implication.

“Nigeria will continue to lose the services of men and women of character, competence and capacity in the public service, unless and until the government implements and executes policy to safeguard and promote patriotic, competent and honest public leaders against systemic blackmail,” it stated.
