OrderPaperToday – Ladan Mukhtar Shehu is one of the sixteen members of the House of Representatives flying the Kaduna State flag in the current 9th assembly. He is representing Makarfi/Kudan federal constituency under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Mr. Mukhtar Shehu was former Staff Solicitor of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria. He was a Legal Adviser Kaduna State Rural Electrification Board (REB), Assistant Director Federal Legal Aid Council of Nigeria, Jos. He was also Commissioner of Education and Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice. He was the Group General Manager of Human Resources in (NNPC), and was later appointed the Deputy Managing Director/CEO of Nigerian Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG).
Sadly, Mr. Muktar Shehu with his cross-cutting experiences, is among the six members in his state who did not sponsor a bill in the first half of the four-year tenure after being elected at the age of 32. He falls under the not too young to run catchment but has been unable to use his opportunity as a parliamentarian to champion the cause for Nigerian Youths.
His performance on bills is however, unrelated to his effort on representation and oversight functions that are required of him as a legislator.
