OrderPaperToday – Senators from Yobe state appeared not to be interested in lending their voices to national discuss through the legislative window of motions and petitions sponsorship.
Despite enormous challenges confronting the Northeast region, the Senators have maintained silence on motions and petitions in the first two years of the 9th Senate according to records.
Sen. Gaidam Ibrahim (APC, Yobe East) joined the Senate after serving as the governor of Yobe state for eight years making him fall in the category of the former governors at the Senate.
Gaidam’s experience as the executive governor of Yobe state has not reflected in the sponsorship of motions and petitions since assumption of duty as Senator.
Like Gaidam, Sen. Bomai Ibrahim Mohammed (APC, Yobe South), a first time senator, has no motions and petitions to his credit, despite his years of experience in public financial management.
