Tinubu’s appointment of the 24-year-old had generated criticisms from the public as many opined that he lacked the requisite experience to head the FERMA Board.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed the withdrawal of the nomination of Imam Kashim Imam as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA).
Recall that President Tinubu appointed the 24-year Imam on 13 October to head the Board for a renewable term of four (4) years, in accordance with Section 2(3) of the FERMA Amendment Act, 2007”.
This directive was disclosed in a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Chief Ajuri Ngelale on Thursday.
The statement read, “The President’s withdrawal of the nomination mentioned above is directed with immediate effect.
“All other appointments to the Board and Executive Management team of FERMA are not affected by this directive.”
No reason was given for this decision.
