Olukoyede was Secretary to the EFCC between 2018 and 2020.
President Bola Tinubu has written to the Senate to screen and confirm Ola Olukoyede as the substantive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
He also requested the confirmation of Muhammad Hammajoda for appointment as secretary of the anti-corruption agency.
The request was contained in a letter read by the Deputy Senate President, Jibrin Barau on the floor of the Senate on Tuesday during plenary.

Recall that President Tinubu, last Thursday, approved the appointment of Olukoyede and Hammajoda as the Executive Chairman and Secretary of the EFCC respectively for a renewable term of four years pending the Senate’s confirmation.
A statement signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, said “Mr. Olukayode’s appointment followed the resignation of the suspended Executive Chairman of the EFCC, Mr. Abdulrasheed Bawa.”
