Statement issued by the Speaker’s office indicates that the thirty-three new aides include two (2) Deputy Chiefs of Staff, two (2) Special Advisers, twenty-one (21) Special Assistants and eight (8) Senior Legislative Aides

Speaker of Nigeria’s House of Representatives, Rep. Tajudeen Abbas, has approved the appointment of thirty-three (33) legislative aides to enable him to hit the ground running and deliver on the legislative agenda of the Tenth House of Representatives.
The statement issued by his office on Monday in Abuja contained two (2) Deputy Chiefs of Staff, two (2) Special Advisers, twenty-one (21) Special Assistants and eight (8) Senior Legislative Aides.
Listed among the aides are Engr Jamil Ahmed Muhammad (Deputy Chief of Staff, Administration), Dr Dunkwu Chamberlain (Deputy Chief of Staff, Legislative), Hon Ahmed Dayyabu Safana (Special Adviser, Special Duties), Dr Hamisu Ibrahim Kubau (Special Adviser, Political Matters), and a long list of Special Assistants. Some other appointees include Zakari Aliyu, named as Principal Private Secretary, and Leke Baiyewu, as Chief Press Secretary.

Advising the new appointees to discharge their duties in line with the new schedule in his office, Speaker Abbas noted that all appointments are with immediate effect and are hinged on the need to effectively deliver the 10th Assembly’s legislative agenda.
It is important to note that Monday’s announcement is coming two weeks after the Speaker announced the appointment of Dr Jerry Uhuo and Musa Krishi as his Special Advisers on Policy and Strategy, as well as Media and Publicity, respectively.
