Adamawa State, in the north-east Nigeria, has a total of eleven members in the National Assembly, comprising of three senators and eight representatives in the House

Meet the 11 members of the 10th National Assembly from Adamawa State

Adamawa State, also known as the Land of Beauty was created on 27th August 1991 from the defunct Gongola State with Yola as its Capital. It is located in the North-East of Nigeria. It sits on a land area of 36, 917 square kilometres making it one the largest States in Nigeria at 8th just behind Zamfara at 7th.

It is bordered to the Northwest by Borno State, Gombe State to the West and Taraba State to the Southwest. It also shares International borders with Cameroon to the East. The State has 3 Senatorial Districts, 8 Federal Constituencies and 21 Local Government Areas.

Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is the current governor of Adamawa State.

Senator Aminu Iya Abass 

The 50-year-old  lawmaker is a first-term senator representing Adamawa Central senatorial district in the 10th Assembly under the PDP. He began his legislative journey in 2011 as a Member of the Adamawa State House of Assembly representing the Uba/Gaya constituency and served as the Chief Whip, Deputy Minority Leader, Minority Leader and Deputy Chief Whip. He also served as Speaker of the State Assembly between 2019 and 2023. He is currently the Chairman, science and technology in the 10th Assembly. Click on this link for more information on Sen. Senator Reverend Amos Yohanna

Senator  Yaroe Binos Dauda

Senator Dauda is a two-term senator representing Adamawa South Senatorial district in the 10th Senate. Dauda contested for the Adamawa South Senatorial seat in the 2015 general elections on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Movement (PDM) but lost. Rep. Aliyu Wakili Boya

The 46-year-old lawmaker is a first-term Member representing the Fufore/Song Federal Constituency in the 10th Assembly under the platform of the APC. He began his legislative journey in 2011 as Senior Chief Legislative Aide to the former Senator of Adamawa Central, Bello Tukur. He was later elected the Executive Chairman of Fufore and appointed Chairman of the Association of Local Governments in Nigeria (ALGON) for Adamawa State. Rep. James Shuaibu Barka

Rep. Barka was born in 1961, he is serving his first term in the House of Representatives, where he represents the Gombi/Hong Federal Constituency under the platform of the PDP. Barka was a member of the Adamawa State House of Assembly representing Hong Constituency. He was appointed Majority Leader of the Assembly in July 2003 and Speaker later on but resigned from the position following threats of impeachment on 2nd August 2010. Rep. Kwamoti Bitrus Laori

The 57-year-old  lawmaker is a third-term member representing Demsa/Numan/Lamurde Federal Constituency in the 10th Assembly. 

He was a Member of the Adamawa State House of Assembly for two consecutive terms from 2007 to 2015, representing the Numan Local Government Area State Constituency where he served as Chief Whip, Deputy Speaker, and chairman of various Committees of the House and eventually as Speaker of the State House. The 64-year-old  lawmaker is a first-term Member, representing the Mayo Belwa / Ganye /Jada /Toungo Federal Constituency in the 10th Assembly under the PDP.
