Niger State, in the north-central Nigeria, has a total of thirteen members in the National Assembly, comprising of three senators and ten representatives in the House
Niger State, established in 1976, lies in the North Central region with a vast landmass of approximately 86,000km² (or roughly 8.6 million hectares). Its capital is Minna. Niger State has 25 Local Government Areas, organized into three senatorial districts and ten federal constituencies. The major cities include Bida, Kontagora and Suleja. It is home to two of Nigeria’s major hydroelectric power stations the Kainji Dam and the Shiroro Dam hence the nickname ‘Power State’.
Niger state is known to have produced two former military heads of state Ibrahim Babangida and Abdulsalami Abubakar. It is currently governed by Mohammed Umar Bago of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Senator Jiya Peter Ndalikali

Senator Sani Bello Abubakar
Senator Bello is currently serving as a first-time Senator representing Niger North Senatorial District in the 10th National Assembly under the platform of the APC. Senator Sani Bello was born on 17th December 1967.
