Lawan’s mother died at her residence in Gashua town in Yobe State.
Former President of the Senate, Ahmed Ibrahim Lawan (APC, Yobe North), has lost his mother at the age of 86.
The news of her death was disclosed in a letter signed by his Media Adviser, Dr. Ezrel Tabiowo, on Saturday in Abuja.
Lawan’s late mother, Hajiya Halima (Baba) Ibrahim, passed on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at her residence in Gashua town, Bade Local Government area of Yobe State.
According to Islamic rights, the lawmaker’s mother will be buried on Sunday, October 15, 2023, at Gashua by 11 a.m.

The letter also stated that the funeral prayers would be done at the Gashua Central Mosque, located in the Emir’s Palace.
The letter further read, “Senator Ahmad Lawan appreciates the outpouring of love and support already received from friends, relatives, and colleagues.
“The family would like to extend deepest gratitude to all those who have reached out and offered their condolences, thoughts, and prayers during this time of immense sadness. Your love and support have been a source of strength, and they are forever thankful.”
