Senate mourns late colleague, suspends legislative activities

Rep. Danbuga who died at 63, was elected to the National Assembly in April 2023, on the platform of the All Progressives Congress.
The Senate on Thursday, suspended all legislative activities to mourn the late member of the House of Representatives, Rep. AbdulKadii Jelani Danbuga.
The senators also observed a minute silence for the deceased, who represented Isa-Sabon Federal Constituency of Sokoto State in the House of Representatives.
Recall that the late lawmaker died on Wednesday 11th October, 2023, after a brief illness in Abuja.
Upon resumption of plenary, the Leader of the Senate, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele (APC, Ekiti Central) moved a motion for the Senate to observe a minute silence, and according to the legislative rule suspend all activities on the Order Paper and adjourn to another legislative day.
Shortly after, the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, adjourned the plenary to Tuesday 17th October, 2023.
