Senator Lawan called for immediate completion of the projects to enable students prompt access to the amenities.
Former Senate President, Senator Ahmad Lawan, (Yobe North) has undertaken an inspection of ongoing initiatives facilitated by him within Yobe North Senatorial District.
Among the projects are, the construction of a Community Centre and a student hostel capable of housing 2,000 individuals, along with a clinic at the Federal University of Gashua.
Details of the tour were contained in a statement issued by the lawmaker’s Media Adviser, Ezrel Tabiowo, over the weekend in Abuja.
Lawan was taken around the project sites by the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Gashua, Professor Maimuna Waziri, and the Acting Director of Works and Fiscal Planning, Engr. Haruna Gashua, took a comprehensive tour of the ongoing initiatives.

Professor Waziri informed Senator Lawan that the Community Centre, with a seating capacity of 2,500, is presently in its second construction phase.
The ex-Senate President, who also assessed the ongoing construction of a student hostel and clinic at the Federal University of Gashua, designed to accommodate 2,000 students, conveyed his approval of the progress and the quality of work accomplished so far.
He urged the contractor to expedite the completion of these projects, ensuring prompt access for students to these amenities.
“Funding for the construction of the student hostel for both genders is currently undergoing the procurement process, as outlined in the 2023 Appropriation Act”, Lawan stated.
