Zamfara State, in the north-west of Nigeria, has a total of ten members in the National Assembly, comprising three senators and seven representatives in the House
Zamfara is a state in northwestern Nigeria. The capital of Zamfara state is Gusau. Until 1996, the area was part of Sokoto State. Zamfara is densely populated and inhabited by mainly Hausa and Fulani. Zamfara sate is made up of fourteen local government area. It is currently governed by Dauda Lawal of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who emerged as governor in 2023.

Senator Ikra Aliyu Bilbis
Sen. Bilbis, is serving his first term as a senator representing Zamfara central under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 10th Assembly. He currently chairs the senate committee on communications. In February 2019, he was initially elected into the senate under the All Progressives Congress (APC), but on May 24, 2019, the supreme court nullified his election. Senator Sahabi Alhaji Ya’u
Sen. Ya’u is serving his fourth term as senator representing the Zamfara north senatorial district. He is the chairman of the committee on national atomic and nuclear energy in the 10th Assembly under the All Progressives Congress (APC). Ya’u was first elected in 2007 to the senate under the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP). Senator AbdulAziz Yari Abubakar
Sen. Yari is representing Zamfara west senatorial district in the 10th Assembly under the All Progressives Congress (APC). He is the chairman, committee on water resources. In 2007, he was elected member representing Anka/Talata Mafara federal constituency under the All Nigeria People’s Party (ANPP). He served as Governor of Zamfara state from 2011 to 2019 and was elected into the senate in 2019 but the supreme court nullified his election on the ground of not being validly nominated through party primaries.
