Oyo State, in the south-west region of Nigeria, has a total of seventeen members in the National Assembly, comprising of three senators and fourteen representatives in the House
Oyo State, South-west Nigeria, consists of 33 Local Government Areas and has Ibadan as the capital and the most populous city in the country. Oyo State is bound to the north by Kwara State, to the east by Osun State, partly across the River Osun, to the south by Ogun State, and to the west by the Republic of Benin. The State is also known as Pace setter state and noted for being the site of the first University in Nigeria, the University of Ibadan founded in 1948. Oyo State was established in 1976.
The State is currently governed by Seyi Makinde of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Governor Makinde has served since 2019 as the 28th Governor of Oyo State.
