Edo State, in the south-south of Nigeria, has a total twelve members in the National Assembly, comprising of three senators and nine representatives in the House

Edo, a state in the south-south part of Nigeria, has Benin City as the capital, which is the fourth largest city in Nigeria. Nicknamed ‘heartbeat of the nation.’ Edo was created in 1991 from the former Bendel State. Edo State comprises eighteen (18) Local Government Areas. It is currently governed by Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who emerged as the tenth governor of the state in 2023.

Edo state has three senators representing the three senatorial districts. They are:

Sen. Oshiomhole is a first-time  senator representing the Edo north senatorial district under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He is a former national chairman of the APC; he previously served as the president of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) from 1999 to 2007; and as the governor of Edo State from 2008 to 2016.
