SENATORS SCORECARD
Obinna Ogba
Representing Ebonyi Central Senatorial District in Nigeria’s National Assembly, 62-year-old Ogba has eight bills to his credit in the period under review. One of the bills passed by the Senate is seeking the establishment of the Federal University of Sports in Ebonyi State.
First elected to the federal parliament in 2015, he currently chairs Senate Committee on Sports and Youth Development. In 2022, Senator Ogba contested and reportedly won the governorship primaries of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in the state but lost the ticket at the Supreme Court to his rival, Ifeanyi Odii.

Sam Egwu
A representative of Ebonyi North Senatorial District at the Red Chamber, Sam Egwu, has sponsored seven bills in the last three years. One of the bills is “A Bill for an Act to Provide for the Prevention, Control and Management of Sickle Cell Anaemia and for Other Purposes Connected Therewith, 2020” which was passed by the Senate.
The Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) lawmaker was a two-time Governor, former Minister of Education and currently chairs the Senate Committee on Industry.

Michael Nnachi
Michael Nnachi is the current Senator representing Ebonyi South Senatorial District in the National Assembly. He has four bills in his name over the last three years.
He also doubles as the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Diaspora, Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and Vice Chairman of the Senate Committee on Poverty Alleviation and Social Investment Programmes.
The Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) lawmaker will, on February 25, face an upheaval task in the 2023 National Assembly Elections as he squares up against the incumbent State Governor, David Umahi of the All Progressives Congress (APC), among others.

HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES SCORECARD
Sylvester Ogbaga
The lawmaker representing Abakaliki/Izzi Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives has sponsored the highest number of bills among lawmakers from the state. In the period under review, he has so far sponsored twelve bills.
Chinedu Nweke Ogah
Rep. Ogbaga is closely followed by Rep. Ogah, who represents Ezza South/Ikwo Federal Constituency in the Green Chamber. A member of the governing All Progressives Congress (APC), he has had 10 bills to his name since 2019.
Igariwey Iduma Enwo
A member of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), the lawmaker represents Afikpo North/Afikpo South Federal Constituency and has so far sponsored five bills. These bills include:
- A Bill to Alter S121 (3) of the 1999 Constitution aimed at making the Judiciary and Legislature at the State level more independent and accountable
- A Bill to Alter S291 (1) (2) of the 1999 Constitution to increase the retirement age of all Judicial officers of Superior Courts of Record to 70 years
- A Bill to Alter S308 of the 1999 Constitution to restrict criminal legal proceedings against Justices of the Superior Courts of record while they serve in their official capacity, among others.
Makwe Livinus Makwe
The lawmaker representing Ivo/Ohaozara /Onicha Federal Constituency has four bills to his credit, including the National Oil Spill Detection and Response Agency (Establishment) Bill, 2019.
Anayo Edwin Nwonu
Elected to the House of Representatives in 2019, the lawmaker represents Ezza North/Ishielu Federal Constituency.
A Bill for an Act to establish a Correctional Trust Fund and Other Related Matters is the only piece of legislation sponsored by the lawmaker.
Chukwuma Alugbala Nwazunku
A representative of Ohaukwu/Ebonyi Federal Constituency is the only legislator from the State with zero bills to his name in the period under review.
