Six newbies in the House of Representatives from Adamawa state did not sponsor a bill in the first year of the 10th national assembly
Since the inauguration of the 10th assembly in June 2023, there seems to be a mixed impression on the performance of new lawmakers in the terms of carrying out their legislative duties effectively.
Without any doubt, parliamentary experiences play a huge role in the ability of lawmakers to perform efficiently, which is why much attention may not be paid to the newbies. Unfortunately, this might have prompted a low performance from a majority of them or motivated them to hide under the shadow of other ranking or returning lawmakers.
OrderPaper on the other hand, carried out a detailed and data-driven analysis on the performance of lawmakers in the first year of the 10th national assembly which shows that 6 newbies out of 11 lawmakers from Adamawa state failed to sponsor any bill between June 2023 and May 2024.
Adamawa state has 8 newbies out of a total of 11 lawmakers in the state. However, out of these, only Senator Aminu Abbas and Rep. Aliyu Boya have bills to their names. While Abbas sponsored 5 bills, Boya sponsored 2.

The 6 other newbies in the state, comprising 5 in the House and 1 in the Senate, failed to sponsor a single bill between June 2023 and May 2024.
In the Senate, 2nd term senator Binos Yaroe sponsored 3 bills while 1st term senator Amos Yohanna sponsored 0 bill.
In the House these newbies with no bill are Jafaar Magaji, James Barka, Kobis Thimnu and Mohammed Bassi while those who sponsored bills in the House aside 1st term Rep. Boya are 2nd term Rep. Nyampa Daudu with 11 bills and 3rd term Rep. Kwamoti Laori with 1 bill.
