Hon. Ahmad represents Katsina North in the senate under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). A former member of the House of Representatives representing Kankia/Ingawa/Kusada Federal Constituency (2011 - 2018), he was first elected to the Senate in 2018 following a bye-election. He won his current substantive seat in the senate in the 2019 general elections. He is Deputy Chairman, Senate Committee on Ethics and Privileges, and as well chairs the senate Committee on Tertiary Institutions and TETFund. Babba-Kaita was born on 8th September 1968.
