Sen. Allwell is currently serving his first-term as a Senator representing Rivers East Senatorial District under the platform of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in the 10th Assembly.
Senator Onyesouh joined mainstream politics in 1993 when he was elected as Chairman of the defunct National Republican Convention (NRC) in Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State. In 1997, following the formation of new political parties in Nigeria, Chief Onyesoh contested and won the Etche constituency II seat in Rivers State House of Assembly under the platform of the United Nigeria Congress Party (UNCP).
