Hon Okafor Chike John

Profile

Hon Okafor is currently serving as a two-term member representing Ehime Mbano/Ihitte Uboma/Obowo Federal Constituency in the 10th House of Representatives under the Platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He serves as the Chairman, House Committee on Nutrition and Food Security. He stated his political carreer as a Finance Commissioner in Imo State (June, 2011-October, 2014). 

In 2015, Hon. Okafor contested and won the elections as a member  of the 8th House of Representatives under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Before joining mainstream politics, Hon. Okafor was a Senior Manager at Zenith Bank (2005-2011). He had also served as a chairman, House Committee on Healthcare Services and member of  serveral Adhoc Committees.

Hon. Okafor is also a crowned prince of Umuokeh Kingdom in Obowo Local Government Area, Imo State, an International Knowledge Resource person and Public Speaker. He is a devout christian, husband and proud father of three beautiful children.

1. A Bill for an ACT to Repeal the Counterfeit and Fake Drugs and Unwholesome Pprocessed Foods Miscellenous Provisions) ACT Cap C34, Laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 2004 and to make Comprehensive Provisions for the Prohibition and Control  of Counterfeit and  Products, 2012 (Remarks-still in the House).
2. An ACT to Establish the Institute of Customer and Commercial Accountant of Nigeria and for other Related  Matters Connected Therewith (Remarks-still in the House).
3. An ACT to Amend the Dangerous Drugs ACT Cap DI Laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 2004 to  giive Powers to the Minister of Health  to Regulate Certain Classes of Drugs. Allow for Arrests  to be affected by the Members of the Public and Review the Prescribed Penalty provided under the ACT and Related Matters.(Remarks-Passed, Waiting to be Signed into Law by Mr. President.
4. An ACT to Establish the Chartered Intitute of Customer Relationship Management to be charged with the Responsibility for Registration Discipline of its Members, to Regulate and Control the Practise Customer Service Profession and for Related Matter Connected Therwith (Remarks-Passed, Waiting to be Signed into Law by Mr. Presiident)
