Hon. Okpolupm is currently serving his first-term as Member representing the Eket/Onna/Esit Eket/Ibeno Federal Constituency in the 10th House of Representatives under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Hon. Okpolupm was the longest-serving Member of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly from (2006-2015) having served for three terms. He chaired various Committees in the third Assembly, and became Chief Whip in the fourth Assembly between (2007-2011) after which he became the State Assembly House Leader.
