The Lawmaker serving his first term as a Senator in the 10th National Assembly was born on August 16, 1967. He won elections in 2023 to represent Abia Central Senatorial District under the Labour Party (LP).
Before then, Senator Nwokocha in 2015 was first elected into the 8th National Assembly as a House of Representatives Member representing Ngwa North and South Federal Constituency, Abia. He was again re-elected in 2019 under the People's Democratic Party (PDP) During his time in the House of Representatives, Senator Darlington served as House Chairman of the Insurance and Actuarial Matters Committee.
Prior to his election into the National Assembly, Senator Nwokocha served in the Abia State House of Assembly Member representing Isiala Ngwa North Local Govt Area from 2007 to 2015 under the PDP.
Senator Nwokocha decamped from PDP to LP in 2022 to represent the party in the 2023 general election as the Abia Central Senatorial District flagbearer, facing a fierce battle from his former party.
The University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State alumni obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Management in 1992. He also obtained a Master's from Abia State University Uturu In 2001 and a PGDPA in Political Science from the University of Benin.
