The tribunal panel determined that Rep. Bagos’ nomination by his party, the PDP, was not valid.
The National Assembly Elections Petitions Tribunal sitting in Jos, Plateau State, has sacked a two-term member of the House of Representatives, Rep. Dachung Bagos.
Bagos, who represents Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency and chairs the House Committee on Science and Technology, was elected to the federal parliament on the platform of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in the February 25 elections.

The tribunal nullified Bagos’ victory declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and proclaimed Ajang Alfred of the Labour Party (LP) as the legitimate winner, and determined that the PDP candidate was not validly nominated by his party to contest the election.
