Urum Kalu Eke had rejected President Bola Tinubu’s appointment as a member of the CBN Board.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has requested the Senate to confirm Ruby Onwudiwe as a member of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Act.
This according to President Tinubu is by the provisions of Section 10 (1) of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Establishment Act 2007.
“I am pleased to present for confirmation, by the Senate, the appointment of Ruby Onwudiwe PhD as a member if the Board of Directors of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
“The Senate is invited to kindly note that Ruby Onwudiwe is a replacement for Mr Urum Kalu Eke, due to the unavailability of Mr Eke to serve in that position.”

OrderPaper recalls that Urum Kalu Eke had earlier rejected President Bola Ahmed Tinubu‘s appointment to the CBN Board.
The nominee’s rejection of the appointment was revealed following the presentation of a report by the Committee on Banking, Insurance and Other Financial Institutions presented by its Chairman, Senator Adetokunbo Abiru (APC, Lagos East) before the confirmation of the other nominees.
Those who were earlier confirmed are; Robert Agbide, Ado Wanga, Murtala Sagaley, and Olayinka Aliyu.
