President Tinubu also sought expeditious consideration and approval of the request of Tadase.
President Bola Tinubu has requested the Senate’s confirmation of Hon Amidu Tadese Raheem from Osun State as Commissioner of the National Population Commission (NPC).
This request was made in a letter sent to the Senate Following the provisions of sections 154 (1) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 as amended.
In the letter read by the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, Tinubu also sought for expeditious consideration and approval of the request.
Part of the letter read, “Whilst hoping that this request will receive the usual expeditious consideration of the Senate, please accept Distinguished Senate President, the assurances of my highest consideration.”
The nominee, Amidu Tadese Raheem is the current Head of the Department of Public Administration, at Fountain University, Osogbo.
He hails from the Tadese Royal Family in Iwo, Osun State, and holds a Bachelor’s Degree of Science (Pol Science), from Oduduwa University, Ile-Ife, and another one in Arts and Education from the University of Ilorin before topping them with a Master of Public Administration (MPA), Master of Science in Public Administration and PhD Public Administration of the Obafemi Awolowo University.
Upon the creation of Osun State from old Oyo State, Amidu Tadese contested and won a seat in the Osun State House of Assembly to represent Iwo Constituency 1, in 1992. He later emerged as Chief Whip of the Parliament.

Similarly, in a separate letter, President Tinubu asked the Senate to screen and confirm five persons appointed as directors of the board of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in compliance with the provision of section 6(1a) and section 10(1)(2) of the CBN Act, 2007.
They are; Robert Agbide, Ado Wanga, Murtala Sagaley, Urom Eke, and Olayinka Aliyu.
“In compliance with the provision of section 6(1a) of the section 10(1)(2) of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Establishment Act 2007,” the president wrote.
“I am pleased to present for confirmation by the senate the appointments of the under-listed five persons as directors of the board of the CBN.”
