On January 2nd, 2024, the victims were allegedly abducted in the Zuma 1 area of Kawu, within the Bwari Area Council of Abuja.
Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan (PDP, Kogi Central) has lauded the swift move by the Nigerian Police Force and Nigerian Army in the rescue operation of the victims of kidnapping incidents in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
This followed a rescue of the kidnap victims in Kaduna by a joint team of police force and soldiers of the Nigerian Army on Saturday, 20 January 2024.
In a statement released on Sunday by the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, she disclosed that at about 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, the victims were successfully rescued from the Kajuru Forest in Kaduna by law enforcement personnel.

Natasha, in a statement on Sunday, January 21, 2024, praised the security officials for their successful rescue and reunion of the kidnap victims with their families.
She further urged the federal government and other levels of government to look into the incessant kidnappings in the country while calling on the security agencies to double their efforts in safeguarding the lives and properties of Nigerians.
She also advised the government to look into the security architectures of the country by revamping the sector, especially now that Nigerians are faced with serious security challenges.
