The ongoing recess by the House of Representatives has been extended to Tuesday, April 23, 2024.
The House of Representatives has announced the rescheduling of its resumption date from its ongoing Easter and Salah recess, with the new date set for Tuesday, April 23, 2024.
Originally planned for Tuesday, April 16, 2024, the shift in the resumption date is attributed to the need for completing renovations in the Main Chamber of the House of Representatives to ensure its readiness for upcoming plenary sessions.
This was contained in a statement issued by Rep. Akin Rotimi Jr., House Spokesman and Chairman of the House Committee on Media and Public Affairs, on Friday. He urged the public and stakeholders to take note of this change.
Rotimi assured that “During this recess, Honourable Members are continuing with productive constituency engagements, while House Committees continue to hold meetings and perform oversight functions.
“The announcement of the rescheduling was made in an internal communication by the Clerk, House of Representatives, Dr. Yahaya Danzaria, Esq., on Thursday,” he added.
Rep. Rotimi acknowledged that this information is being provided in line with the Legislative Agenda of ensuring transparency and accountability.
