The National Assembly passed the proposed N2.17trn 2023 supplementary appropriation budget last Thursday.
President Bola Tinubu has signed the N2.17 trillion 2023 Supplementary budget into law.
The 2023 Supplementary Appropriation Act was signed on Wednesday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, in the presence of the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio (APC, Akwa-Ibom North-West), and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abass (APC, Kaduna).
Also present at the signing were, Senate Leader, Opeyemi Bamidele (APC, Ekiti Central) and the Chairman, Senate Committee on Finance, Olamilakan Adeola (APC, Ogun West).
Others are the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume, the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Atiku Bagudu, and the Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Services (FIRS), Zacch Adedeji.

The President also sent the 2024-2026 Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) & Fiscal Strategy Paper to both chambers of the National Assembly,
Tinubu had said the supplementary bill was necessary for additional palliative measures including wage awards. The Federal Executive Council (FEC) chaired by the President on Monday approved the 2023 supplementary budget of N2.1 trillion.
Recall that the Senate and the House of Representatives, last Thursday, passed the N2.17trn 2023 supplementary appropriation bill following a request by President Tinubu who had written to the National Assembly seeking approval of the sum of N2.17 trillion as the 2023 supplementary budget.
