Senate calls for probe in collapsed school building
The Senate has called for a probe into the tragic collapse of the Saints Academy School building in Plateau State. This was contained in a motion sponsored by the three Plateau Senators, Pam Mwadkon (ADP, Plateau North), Diket Plang (APC, Plateau Central) and Simon Bako Lalong (APC, Plateau South). Presenting the motion, Senator Plang expressed worry over the depressing sight of healthy and agile children who left home to write their examinations in the said school, unfortunately returned to their parents as dead bodies. This prompted the Senate to call on the federal government and all relevant government agencies to immediately put necessary structures and apparatus in place to halt construction failures and bring to book, all those violating laid down procedures for construction activities.
