NDDC: Immediate past Senate Leader, 5 ex-lawmakers make reconstituted Board

It is noteworthy that the Senate had in December 2022, confirmed former President Muhammadu Buhari’s Aide; Lauretta Onochie and other nominees sent for its screening as members of the Board and Management of the NDDC.

Board

 

President Bola Tinubu, on Tuesday, approved the constitution of a new Board and Management of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

Made up of seventeen (17) members, the new Board and Management team according to a communication by the Presidential Spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, is tasked with ensuring a new era of successful administration in the NDDC, in line with the President’s Renewed Hope agenda.

As contained in the statement released by the Presidency, the Board will be chaired by Chiedu Ebie from Delta State, while the current Managing Director, Dr Samuel Ogbuku – from Bayelsa State retains his position as Managing Director/CEO. Other members of the Management Team are Boma Iyaye (Rivers) who is to serve as Executive Director (Finance and Admin), Victor Antai (Akwa Ibom); Executive Director (Projects), and Ifedayo Abegunde (Ondo); Executive Director (Corporate Services).

Six former lawmakers however, made it to the newly-reconstituted board, including the immediate past Leader of the Senate; Ibrahim Abdullahi Gobir, appointed as Zonal Representative (North West), and Ex-Bayelsa Senator, Dimaro Denyanbofa, appointed as State Representative (Bayelsa).

Others include Hon. Namdas Abdulrazak, appointed as Zonal Representative (North East), Hon. Nick Wende, appointed Zonal Representative (North Central) and the immediate past member representing Orhionmwon/Uhunmwunode Federal Constituency; Hon Patrick Aisowieren, appointed as State Representative (Edo). A former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly; Hon. Monday Igbuya, was also appointed State Representative (Delta).

The newly reconstituted Board and Management also has the following members:

Abasi Nkono – State Representative – Akwa Ibom;

Chief Tony Okocha – State Representative – Rivers.

Kyrian Uchegbu – State Representative – Imo

Victor Kolade Akinjo – State Representative – Ondo.

Chief Dimgba Eruba – State Representative – Abia;

Asu Oku Okang – State Representative – Cross River.
