Ogun State, in south-west Nigeria, has a total of twelve members in the National Assembly, comprising three senators and nine representatives in the House
Ogun State, located in southwestern Nigeria, is the second most industrialized state after Lagos, with a significant focus on metal processing. It is home to Wole Soyinka, the renowned Nigerian playwright, novelist, poet, and essayist who won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1986. Abeokuta, the capital and largest city of Ogun State, is complemented by other notable cities such as Ijebu-Ode, the capital of the Ijebu kingdom, and Sagamu, known for being Nigeria’s leading kola nut producer. Yoruba is predominantly spoken throughout the state. In terms of population, Ogun State ranks as the 16th most populated in Nigeria and is the 24th largest in terms of land area, covering 16,762 square kilometers. The state is uniquely recognized as the exclusive producer of Ofada rice and is home to numerous influential figures in Nigeria and Africa. Currently, Prince Dapo Abiodun serves as the Governor of Ogun State, on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
