An explosion occurred in Ibadan during the late hours of Tuesday, leading to several casualties
The Chairman, Senate Committee on Electoral Matters, Barrister Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli (APC, Oyo South), has urged the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, and other relevant agencies to offer prompt humanitarian relief to the victims of the Ibadan explosion.
This was disclosed in a statement released on Wednesday, November 17, 2024, and signed by his media assistant, Akeem Abas.
Recall that there was an explosion on Tuesday, 16th January 2024 in Dejo Oyelese close, Bodija Housing Estate in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, rendering an unspecified number of people injured.

To eliminate similar incidents in the future and guarantee the safety of the inhabitants of the area, Alli pleaded with the authorities to carry out a comprehensive inquiry into the explosion’s cause.
“I call on relevant government agencies, emergency responders, and community leaders to collaborate in providing immediate relief as well as necessary resources to the victims and their families.
“I also urged the government to conduct a thorough investigation into the cause of the explosion to prevent future occurrences and ensure the safety of residents in the area,” he said.
