The swearing-in followed the bye-elections conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to replace the vacant seats in the Senate.

Breaking: Senate Swears in Mwadkon, Ani, others.

The Senate has sworn in Senators Pam Mwadkon Dachungyang (Plateau North, ADP), Okorie Anthony Ani (Ebonyi South, APC), and Musa Mustapha (Yobe East, APC).

They were sworn in on Tuesday, 13 February 2024, during plenary to replace Simon Mwadkwon (PDP) David Umahi (APC), and Geidam Ibrahim (APC) respectively.

Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Saturday, 3rd February 2024 conducted some bye-elections as a result of the resignation or death of elected lawmakers and subsequent vacancies declared by the presiding officers of the National Assembly and the state Houses of Assemblies.
