Only two of Gombe Reps had bills to their names while four others sponsored none in one year of the 10th national assembly
While lawmaking is one of the core duties of the legislature aside from representation and oversight, the nine lawmakers from Gombe State sponsored 13 bills, which are relatively low when compared to the total of 1650 bills posted by the Senate and House in one year of the 10th assembly.

OrderPaper, through its detailed analysis, has revealed that the performance scorecard goes beyond mere sponsorship of bills but how the drafts progress through the legislative process.
The Gombe lawmakers not only had a disappointingly low number of bills but also presented bills that have not progressed beyond first reading.

According to the detailed analysis by OrderPaper, the three senators from the state sponsored 10 bills out of a total of 475 senate bills. These propsals focused on education, agriculture, and health. Only two of the six representatives from the state sponsored three bills out of a total of 1175 posted in the House from June 2023 to May 2024.
In the Senate, a fourth-term senator, Danjuma Goje (APC Gombe Central), sponsored 2 bills, all awaiting second reading, while Senator Ibrahim Dankwambo (PDP Gombe North) and Senator Anthony Yaro (PDP Gombe South), both first-term senators, sponsored 3 and 5 bills, respectively.
In the House of Representatives, Rep. Abdullahi El-Rasheed (PDP Gombe) and Rep. Obed Shehu (PDP Gombe) sponsored two and one bill respectively in the first year of the 10th assembly.
However, chief whip of the house and a third term member, Rep. Bello Kumo, Rep. Bauchi Tongo, also a third term member, Rep. Isa Ali J. C., and Rep. Garba Inuwa, both first term members, all failed to sponsor any bill in the first year of the 10th National Assembly.
