Yobe State, in north-east Nigeria, has a total of nine members in the National Assembly, comprising three senators and six representatives in the House
Yobe State was created on 27 August 1991 out of Borno State. The capital is Damaturu, and its largest city by population is Potiskum, which also the home of the former Senate President, Senator Ahmed Ibrahim Lawan. The incumbent governor Mai Mala Buni was sworn in on 29 May 2019. He serves under platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
