Onuigbo hails Tinubu, Kalu, on south-east development law

Onuigbo, a climate change icon and former representative from Abia state, hails President Tinubu for assenting to the south-east development commission bill

Member representing the south-east geopolitical zone on the governing board of the North East Development Commission (NEDC), Rep. Sam Onuigbo, has hailed President Bola Tinubu for assenting to the south east development commission (SEDC) bill sponsored by deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Rep.  Benjamin Kalu, and others.

This was contained in a press statement signed by Rep. Onuigbo, and made available to newsmen on Tuesday night, following the signing into law of the bill, by President Tinubu. 

The sponsor of Nigeria’s climate change law also commended other south-east House of Representatives’ members who co-sponsored the bill as well as the senators who concurred to complete national assembly passage.

According to him, the establishment of the commission concretises President Tinubu’s commitment to an inclusive development of the south-east post-civil war and represents a genuine commitment towards addressing not only the insecurity in the region, but also the infrastructural decay which had hitherto plagued Ala Igbo

The former Abia lawmaker also praised the deputy speaker for his exemplary leadership and unparalleled commitment towards the progressive development of the south-east which first manifested in the launch and implementation of the Peace in the South East Project (PISE-P) and now the enactment of the law establishing a commission charged with overseeing the holistic growth and development of the region. 

According to him, “I commend President Tinubu GCFR for showing again, his commitment to a united and prosperous Nigeria where no region is left behind.”
