Nigerian lawmaker Rep. Yusuf Gagdi, has gifted teenage daughter SUV on graduation from secondary school
Rep. Yusuf Gagdi (APC Plateau ), has gifted his teenage daughter, Aisha Gagdi, a brand new SUV to celebrate her graduation from secondary school.
The Plateau federal lawmaker also donated N3 million to top students and dedicated staff to encourage academic excellence.
Gagdi offered this gesture at the daughter’s graduation from Lead British International School Abuja, on Saturday July 20, 2024.
The member, representing Pankshin/ Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency, Rep. Gagdi, reportedly made the gesture to also celebrate Aisha for obtaining good grades in her Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations, UTME.
The images of the graduation ceremony and the teenage daughter showcasing the luxury vehicle were shared on Facebook. Gagdi also posted on his X handle expressing joy that his teenage daughter was graduating from secondary school.
He said: “Today, I attended my amazing daughter’s graduation ceremony. Watching you, my dear daughter, walk across that stage fills my heart with immense pride and love. I celebrate your achievements and the strength you’ve shown. Here’s to a future filled with endless possibilities and happiness,”
Gagdi further emphasized the importance of focus and commitment he said, “An incredible day at Lead British International School Abuja’s graduation ceremony! Emphasized the importance of focus and commitment for a bright future ahead. Delighted to make a significant donation of N3 million to top students and dedicated staff to encourage academic excellence.”
Meanwhile, Rep. Gagdi’s gift to his daughter has attracted comments from Nigerians – while some congratulated Aisha for the gift by her father others blasted the lawmaker for being insensitive to the current economic plight in the country.
A user, Daddy King Henry, said, “Congratulations 🎊 to her ,I will also do same for my daughter..it is well deserved,” while Mario, said, “It is good, but whenever you’re serving the public you need to cut some cost because we might think you are using public funds to enrich yourself and family.”
