Federal Capital Territory (FCT), in the north-central Nigeria, has a total of three members in the National Assembly, comprising of one senator and two representatives in the House
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT), known as the ‘centre of unity,’ has Abuja serving as both the capital of the territory and Nigeria. Located in the north-central region of Nigeria, it is the first city meticulously planned in the 1980s. Noteworthy features of the area include the Three Arms Zone which houses the presidential villa, the national assembly complex, and the supreme court of Nigeria.
Other landmarks include the millennium tower, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) headquarters, the national stadium, the national mosque, the national church, Aso and Zuma rocks.
The FCT is divided into six area councils, with two federal constituencies and one senatorial district. Unlike other states governed by governors, the FCT is overseen by the Minister of the FCT, with the current minister being former governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, the 8th to hold the position since 1999.
