The Appellate Court upheld the Election Tribunal’s earlier judgment that ruled Akpoti-Uduaghan winner of the election.
Barr. Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has been sworn to represent Kogi Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly.
She was sworn in on Thursday, during Senate plenary.
Akpoti-Uduaghan (PDP, Kogi Central), becomes the first female Senator from Kogi State.
Recall that on Tuesday, the Appeal Court in Abuja declared Akpoti-Uduaghan the winner of the Kogi Central Senatorial Election held earlier in February.
Also recall that the Appellate court dismissed the appeal filed by Abubakar Ohere of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for lacking in merit.

The Kogi State Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Lokoja had nullified the victory of Ohere as the winner of the Kogi Central Senatorial Election earlier in September, and declared her the winner of the February senatorial poll.
Following the declaration, Ohere headed to the appellate court to seek redress but the court further upheld the tribunal’s decision.
