The House observed a minute silence in honor of the late lawmaker, who died at the age of 63, and thereafter, adjourned plenary to Thursday, October 12, 2023, in line with its tradition.
The House of Representatives has commiserated with the family of Sokoto lawmaker, late Abdulkadir Jelani Danbuga, who died in the early hours of Wednesday after a brief illness.
In a statement issued by the spokesperson of the House, Rep. Akin Rotimi, on Wednesday, the House also expressed its sympathy to the entire people of Sokoto State and prayed to God to grant the late lawmaker a peaceful rest.
Late Rep. Danbuga, who represented Isa-Sabon Federal Constituency in the House, died at the age of 63, following a brief illness, and has been buried in Sokoto State according to Islamic rites.

Danbuga was a former Sole Administrator of Sabo Bini Local Government Council in Sokoto State and was elected to the National Assembly in April 2023, on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) following his victory at the supplementary polls.
At Wednesday’s plenary, which was presided over by Deputy Speaker, Rep. Benjamin Kalu, the House observed a minute silence in honor of the late lawmaker, and thereafter, adjourned, deferring the day’s order of business to Thursday, October 12, 2023, in line with its tradition.
