The Delta lawmaker, Waive insisted that the ground for which the tribunal overturned his victory is unknown to law.

The National Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal, sitting in Delta State, has nullified the election of Rep. Francis Oghenejiro Waive as Member representing Ughelli North/Ughelli South/Udu Federal Constituency of Delta State in the House of Representatives.

Waive, who was declared winner of the February 25 National Assembly elections on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was sacked by the tribunal over improper documentation on Monday.

The panel declared former lawmaker, Hon. Solomon Ahwinahwi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the actual winner of the elections.

Reacting to the judgment in a statement shortly after it was declared, Waive rejected the verdict, saying the ground for his sack is not known to law.

“Let me state clearly, as I did before the Tribunal with documented evidence, that I did submit all required documents, including my qualifications as required by INEC. The non-publication of the same on the INEC portal is not my making or within my power to effect. And, I did write INEC on this,” Waive said.
