Delta state has seen a very poor performance from its only female representative since the inauguration of the 10th National Assembly
Delta state has a total of 13 lawmakers in both chambers of the national assembly. Of these 13, only 3 failed to sponsor any bill in the first year of the 10th NASS.
A detailed analysis by OrderPaper on the performance of lawmakers between June 2023 and May 2024 shows that Delta state lawmakers in the House of Representatives sponsored a total of 56 bills of which the lone female lawmaker in the state, Rep. Ibori-Suenu Erthiatake failed to sponsor a single bill.
Further analysis shows that 9 of the 16 females in the House of Representatives sponsored zero bills in the period under review.

Other lawmakers in the House like Rep. Waive Francis sponsored 24 bills while Rep. Ezechi Nnamdi sponsored 12 bills.
While Reps Ukodhiko Jonathan and Thomas Ereyitomi sponsored 7 and 6 bills respectively, Reps Pondi Julius and Nwokolo Onyemaechi sponsored zero bill.
Rep. Nicholas Mutu sponsored 4 bills while Reps Okolie Lawrence and Etanabene Benedict sponsored 2 and 1 bills respectively. The performance by Mutu, who has been in the national assembly since 1999, is a notable departure from the past where he is usually absent on the bills chart.
In the Senate, first term Senator, Ned Nwoko, sponsored 10 bills while Senators Joel Onowakpo and Ede Dafinone sponsored 5 and 1 bills respectively.
