# Upgrade Notice — Filter & Grids

## 🔥 Major Upgrade

This release is a **complete redesign** of the **Filter & Grids** plugin.  
We’ve reworked the architecture, improved performance, and added new functionality — including the ability to **build combined filters directly inside grids**.

Despite the changes, your **previous settings will remain intact** after updating.  
If necessary, you can **rollback to the previous version** of the plugin at any time.

## ⚠️ What You Need to Know

- **Backup First**: Always create a full backup of your WordPress site (files + database) before upgrading.
- **Compatibility**: Requires **WordPress 5.8+** and PHP 7.4 or higher.
- **Templates**: Custom templates may require minor adjustments for the new rendering engine.
- **Deprecated Functions**: Some functions have been replaced with new ones. Check the developer documentation.
- **Safe Rollback**: You can always revert to the previous version without losing your settings. To do this, in the new version of the plugin you should:
- 1. Go to **Filter & Grids → Settings** in your WordPress admin panel.
- 2. Enable the option **Legacy Mode**.
- 3. Click **Save settings**.

1. Backup your WordPress database and files.
2. Update the plugin on a **staging site** before applying it to production.
3. Verify that your filters, grids, and templates are displayed correctly.
4. Explore the new **combined filter constructor** feature.
5. Clear WordPress and server-side caching after the update.
6. If you encounter issues, use the **rollback option** to restore the previous version.
