OrderPaperToday– Olatunji Abiola Shoyinka is a ranking member of parliament, having being elected in 2015 into the 8th assembly.

He is one of the twenty-four representatives of Lagos State in the House of Representatives. He is a representing Surulere ii federal constituency under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Mr. Shoyinka, who had purportedly backed President Buhari’s anti-corruption crusade on the ground that it should not be limited to vilifying the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as corrupt, has yet to sponsor any bill halfway through his four-year term in the 9th Assembly.

Mr. Shoyinka

Despite his interest in and support for fighting corruption, as well as his experience being a two-term member, he joins a group of ten members of his state’s squad who sponsored zero bills in the first two years of their four-year tenure in the 9th assembly.

He has therefore defaulted in one of the primary responsibilities of a lawmaker.

Mr. Shoyinka’s midterm bill sponsoring record, on the other hand, has nothing to do with his oversight functions and representation activities. Perhaps a good record on those aspects may makeup for him. He may do better and have bills tied to his name before the end of the 9th assembly.
