OrderPaperToday – The Senate has disclosed that it is ready to probe and revoke all illegally allocated plots of lands in the Federal Capital Territory.
Chairman, Senate Committee on Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Dino Melaye said this to journalists in Abuja, also stating that the probe will begin from 1999 to date.
Melaye said the illegal allocations from the administration of Nasir el Rufai to that of Bala Mohammed violate the Abuja Master plan.
The Senate Committee had ealier exposed the degrading of Abuja landmarks and defacement of tourist locations by some big political office holders in the past and vowed to redress the matter.
In a counter reaction, however immediate past Minister of the FCT Bala Mohammed, through newspaper advertorials questioned the rationale behind the committee’s plan to probe allocation of lands in the territory.
