Ogun West Senator, Solomon Olamilekan Adeola to chair Senate Committee on Appropriation, while Labour Party’s Senator Okechukwu Ezea is to chair the Committee on Ethics, Code of Conduct and Public Petitions

The Senate has announced the appointment of Chairman and Vice Chairmen of some Senate Standing Committees done by its Committee on Selection, headed by the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, and Senator Jibrin Barau, Deputy President of the Senate as Vice Chairman.
Akpabio made this announcement on Tuesday during plenary session, after reading a letter from President Bola Tinubu. According to his announcement, the following lawmakers will chair various Standing Committees of the Senate:

“In accordance to the Senate Standing Order 95 (b) as amended, under sundry matters in anticipation of the possibility of receiving supplementary budgetary application, the selection Committee has also resolved to set up the Committee on Appropriations,” Akpabio stated as he announced the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Committee respectively.

Meanwhile, President Bola Tinubu has requested the Senate’s confirmation of his nominees for Service Chiefs who were named recently to serve in the present administration.
This request was contained in the letter read by Senator Godsswill Akpabio, who confirmed that the Senate Committees would conduct the screening and confirmation exercise of the Service chiefs in the absence of Standing Committees.
