OrderPaperToday – More tributes have continued to come the way of departed Kogi politician and governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Abubakar Audu as he was earlier today interred at his hometown, Ogbonicha.
Prominent Nigerians who have paid tributes include Senate President Bukola Saraki and Senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye.
In a series of tweets from his Twitter handle, @bukolasaraki, the senate president expressed sadness at Audu’s demise and urged people of the state to remain peaceful and imbibe the legacy of building a united Kogi shared by the departed.
According to Saraki, Audu died a “dogged and visionary leader. My condolences to his family, people and government of Kogi and our party
“Prince Audu’s death is extremely painful but we cannot question the will of the
Almighty Allah in the present sorrowful circumstances.
“I have taken prince Audu’s death in good faith because i strongly believe that only God gives life and can as well take it when He wishes
“I urge everyone to be calm and peaceful,
even at death all Audu would want for Kogi State is progress, peaceful coexistence and development.”
On his part, Sen. Melaye also posted tributes on his Twitter account, @dino_Melaye. Some of his tweets are as follows: “Goodnight my oga as you exit this sinful world. Adieu
