Leader of the caucus, Leo Ogor gave made the demand on Tuesday in Abuja at a briefing to express the concerns of the caucus on the rerun in the state.
The Ogor- led caucus further stressed that any attempt to change the result of the rerun will be unacceptable.
According to Ogor, “elections have already been concluded but INEC refused to announce results. INEC has not been able to tell us whether the result is inconclusive or not. They’ve been unable to carry out their constitutional responsibility”.
The caucus said it is very bothered about INEC’s decision to suspend the Rivers State rerun election.
Speaking further, the lawmakers said it is only the President of the country that is authorized to use the Nigeria Army as stipulated in the Constitution but expressed dismay that soldiers were rather used to carry ballot boxes in the rerun polls which is unacceptable.
“The concept of using the army which the APC had earlier complained in the past has now become the order of the day”, said Ogor.
The caucus however sympathized with families of those killed in the election and observed a minute of silence.
