OrderPaperToday – The House of Representatives on Wednesday recognised Mr. Ayodele Dada, 29 years old graduate of psychology from the University of Lagos who recorded an outstanding performance of 5.0 Cumulative Grade Point Aggregate (CGPA).
The parliament awarded him the rare privilege of admittance to its plenary session.
Sponsor of the motion that led to the lower chamber’s recognition of Dada, Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila (APC, Lagos) commended the graduate, saying ”it is a dream come true which we must show to other Nigerians.”
While commending him, Gbajabiamila who is the Majority Leader of the House, advised the federal government to tap into Dada’s potential to avoid possible brain drain to other countries.
Lawmakers who spoke on the motion including Raphael Igbokwe (PDP, Imo) and Nnenne Ukeje (PDP, Abia) said the recognition of Dada by the House is to encourage young people to attain a life of excellence.
They however reminded him to be of good conduct as he is now seen as a role model to others in the country.
On his part, Speaker Yakubu Dogara urged the graduate to remain humbled as ”nobody can stop you; only you can stop yourself in attaining greater height”.
