OrderPaperToday- The Senate has approved the nomination of Emily Chidinma Osuji as Executive Director of the Nigerian Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC).
Ms. Osuji’s confirmation follows the consideration of a report by its Committee on Banking, Insurance and Other Financial Institutions.
Chairman of the Committee, Senator Uba Sani (APC, Kaduna Central), while presenting the report noted that “the office of the Executive Director (Corporate Services) of the Corporation became vacant following the end of the tenure of the previous occupant.”

He further noted that Mrs. Osuji’s was nominated by President Muhammadu Buhari pursuant to Section 8 of the Nigerian Deposit Insurance Corporation Act, 2006.
“The nominee possesses the academic qualifications, technical knowledge and professional experience to be Executive Director of the NDIC,” Sani stated

The Committee, according to the report, did not receive any petition against the nominee and therefore, recommended Osuji for confirmation. It added that she was cleared by the Nigeria Police, Department of State Services (DSS) and that she possessed the Code of Conduct Acknowledgement Slip.
