SENATORS SCORECARD

Binani

 

 

Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed (Binani) 

Not new to the institution of parliament, Senator Ahmed representing Adamawa Central Senatorial District is the lone female lawmaker from the North-Eastern State at the Ninth National Assembly. A member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), she doubles as the party’s gubernatorial candidate in Adamawa State.

First elected to the House of Representatives in 2011, Binani, who moved to the Senate in 2019, has sponsored a total of 11 bills in the period under review (2019 – 2022). Prominent among these are the Modibbo Adama University Of Technology (Est, Etc.) Bill, Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital, Yola (Establishment) Bill, Federal Medical Centre Mubi Adamawa State (Establishment) Bill 2021.

Others are Constitution (Alteration) Bill 2019, Criminal Code Act, CAP C38 LFN 2004 (Amendment) Bill 2021, and Penal Code (Northern Nigeria) Act CAP C31 LFN 2004 (Amendment) Bill 2021 among others.

 

Ishaku Cliff Abbo

Elected under the platform of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in 2019, the Adamawa North Senator ditched his party for the broom party owing to irreconcilable differences between himself and the State Governor.

Senator Abbo who chairs the Senate Committee on Primary Healthcare and Communicable Diseases has so far sponsored seven bills in the National Assembly, including that seeking to establish the Federal College of Education (Technical) Michika in Adamawa State.

 

Binoes Dauda Yaroe

The cleric-turned-politician represents Adamawa South Senatorial District in the National Assembly. He was first elected to parliament in 2019 and is currently the Vice Chairman of the Senate Committee on Capital Market.

He is is the lone PDP Senator from the State and has so far sponsored four bills, including that seeking to establish the Federal College of Forestry, Toungo Adamawa State, which has equally passed first reading.

Abdulrazaq Sa’ad Namdas
The lawmaker representing Ganye/Jada/Mayo-Balwa/ Toungo Federal Constituency has sponsored 10 bills in the period under review (2019 – 2022).

Yusuf Buba Yakub
Representing Gombi/Hong Federal Constituency, the All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmaker with nine bills to his credit, closely follows Rep. Namdas on the Adamawa Bills Tally.


Jafa’aru Suleiman Ribadu
The lawmaker representing Yola North/Yola South/Girei Federal Constituency has five bills to his name since his election to the Green Chamber in 2019.


Kwamoti Laori
A former Deputy Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, he is a member of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP). Rep Laori representing Numan/Demsa/Lamurde Federal Constituency has sponsored four bills.

Jafa’aru Abubakar Magaji
A representative of Mubi North/Mubi South/Maiha Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, he has so far sponsored three bills.

Zakaria Dauda Nyampa
The lawmaker representing Michika/Madagali Federal Constituency has in the period under review, sponsored one bill.

 

Gibeon Goroki
Having spent three years at the National Assembly, the legislator representing Guyuk/Shelleng Federal Constituency is one of two lawmakers from the State without a bill to their names in the period under review.

Muhammad Mustapha Saidu
Representing Fufore/Song Federal Constituency, the lawmaker failed to sponsor a bill in his three-stay so far at the National Assembly.
